Thanks for stopping by. If you don’t already know me, here’s a bit about who I am and what I do…
I graduated from Babson College in 2001 with a love for business and a desire to be “successful”. My definition of which is one learned from watching my father; a guy who always worked for himself, hustled his ass off, gave his family everything they could want, and was always present.
While at Babson, I also discovered my creative side…after one day sitting behind the campus center desk I knew I couldn’t make money this way, so I taught myself how to design websites and by the time I graduated I was managing 30 clients and made myself a nice chunk of change in the process.
After graduating I wanted to utilize my business and creative skills, so my father and I opened and operated a boutique design & development firm, which we ran for 12 years in Jersey City, NJ. The core strategy was the revitalization and adaptive reuse of architecturally significant, underutilized buildings within the urban core of Jersey City and Hoboken, NJ. During that time we successfully delivered over 200,000 sq feet of mixed-use and multi-family properties, winning multiple restoration and preservation awards in the process.
In 2011, HGTV approached my cousin, John, and me to follow us, and my development company, and thus Kitchen Cousins was born. Nine years later, I have had six show titles, and nine successful seasons of television with a media reach that spans the globe and a viewership that is in the 100’s of millions. We are now working with the team from Ellen DeGeneres on our second season of The Build Up, which gives back to communities in need.
In addition, I have also launched my own digital series called TheBuild.tv, which is focused on giving homeowners real, actionable information so they can make their renovations a reality.
And believe it or not, I still have time for my private design clients, and a private life.
When I’m not working I can most often be found meandering around the Catskills with my Fiancé Jacey and our pup Rossi going on hikes, floating the Esopus, or hitting up a dog friendly brewery.
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little more about me.
Much Love -A
